I’ll Live A Long Life to Adore My Absolute Fave—Currently My Stepbrother! - Chapter 0

  2. I’ll Live A Long Life to Adore My Absolute Fave—Currently My Stepbrother!
  3. Chapter 0

“You’ve gotta be kidding me!” I inadvertently blurted out.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I was born into a humble baronial family and I couldn’t shake the queasy feeling. I knew that there had been strange visions inside my head for a long time. I also discerned that they were from the days before I was born in this world, but I simply whisked them away by reasoning that they mattered nothing to me.

But when I saw the scene in front of me, it finally dawned on me.

This was the world of the smartphone app game ‘Hikari Mugen ∞ Destiny’, where I spent the most intense and exciting times of my previous life. How did I know it? The proof was right in front of my eyes.

Before me stood ‘Orsis-sama’—my utmost, my ultimate, my absolute favourite character that I was totally crazy about in my previous life!!

“Each and every day, my beloved1 is so precious…”

“I feel you…Today I was on a loop with the friends’ route.”

“I also played that route yesterday. When Orsis-sama bashfully smiled with a slight blush on his cheek, that was the best ever!”

“Ha~ So precious…”

I heaved out a sigh of satisfaction as I scrolled through the chat that was heatedly discussing Orsis-sama; checking this chat had been my daily solace.

Orsis was literally the best ever. Inside my heart, he was my supreme favourite. He had been one of the capture targets in a smartphone game app called ‘Hikari Mugen ∞ Destiny’, a simulation otome game that trended on social media, and I was struck by his appearance the moment the game came out.

He was absolutely, perfectly to my liking—not in the romantic sense that I wanted him to be my lover, but he struck all my fancy for a 2D character. His silver almost light blue, hair was straight and silky down to his shoulders; he had a pensive look on his face and an icy stare to boot.

His personality was unduly cool. He had even been nicknamed ‘The Ice Prince’ on social media. He captivated me with his beautiful looks, as if commanding me to draw pictures of him. From there on out, I was quickly dragged deep into the mire. I immediately installed the app, and when I had time, I played, paid, and drew his pictures. I led a rosy life in which my real job had become nothing but an afterthought.

I got myself a copy of the setting book, and when I posted about Orsis-sama on social media, people who were just like me got together and we had heated debates every night. Of course, everyone would be taken aback if someone who stanned Orsis-sama was a guy, so I disguised myself as a female online2. My illustrations—my hobby—had all become those of Orsis-sama and 80% of my tweets were revolving around Orsis-sama. No need to mention, the remaining 20% were rantings about my real-life work.

“It seems that Orsis-sama’s younger brother was much more doted upon by his father rather than Orsis-sama.”

“But Orsis-sama said that his lil brother was cute and that they got along pretty well.”

“Haven’t you properly read his personal story? Oh, it’s the personal story with an image of Orsis-sama in casual clothes, the one that comes out randomly with the paid gacha3. I got it after spending 30k yen4, you know.”

“Personal story… EH? I haven’t read that.”

“I recommend you read it immediately! Apparently, he saw his strict father loved his second wife’s son from her previous marriage, and he said with the sexiest, most languid look on his face, ‘My younger brother is cute, but at the same time, I can’t help but hate him. I wanted to erase myself, who thought in that way.’ Oh my, is Orsis-sama an angel?”

“I agree with that, he’s an angel. I’ll top up my money in the game and get that personal story.”

As I put nearly half of my paycheck into the top-up screen, I thought about the languid, lew—sexy face of Orsis-sama. No matter what face he wore, it was awesome. Even hating his younger brother revealed a human side of him, but Orsis-sama, who felt guilty about that was simply an angel. While feeling indignant that there was still a side of Orsis-sama that I hadn’t witnessed, I turned the gacha, again and again, depleting the items needed to activate it.

That was about all I could remember from my previous life. I had no idea how I was reincarnated here, and I couldn’t remember whether I eventually obtained that additional data on Orsis-sama or not. But if I hadn’t gotten it, I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to die, so I must have gotten it.

Nevertheless, I possessed the memories of the years I had lived in this world.

In front of my eyes was Orsis-sama, who, for all I could tell was, as young as a primary schooler. And I was four years old. My mother took me by the hand and we arrived at the house of her second marriage. I was welcomed by my new father—a very beautiful, cool, and young man—and my brother-to-be.

It was Orsis-sama!

From any angle that I could look from, he was the shota-version of Orsis-sama!

Eh, wait? Me, the younger brother? I could be Orsis-sama’s younger brother? Just what kind of bonus track was this? Or, did I ascend to heaven due to a congenital disease? Did I die?

In front of me, Orsis-sama worriedly observed the unmoving me. I found the situation to be so unreal that my head started to panic, my heart started to race, and breathing was difficult. His angelic figure was so overwhelming that my eyes were spinning. My lungs were squeezed, my heart was pounding painfully, and I had a coughing fit.

How shaken up was I by the fact that my absolute fave was right in front of me? Ah, he was reaching his hands out to me. If I took those hands, I would have nothing left to regret.

VIVA LA REINCARNATION!

It was okay to die already. My breathing was hindered by the ceaseless coughs; it was like I had an asthma attack.

Oh, what? It was not because of seeing my absolute fave right in front of me that made my heart pounding erratically; it was actually my illness flaring up. I finally realised this fact when I saw my mother hugging me with a face like she was about to cry, my new father looking at me with an anxious look on his face, and my absolute fave reservedly holding my hand with a worried expression.

Oh, Orsis-sama, such a face was also awesome. I thought I was not supposed to be into shota. But Orsis-sama, you could even easily smash my existing sexual preference. I was definitely the best for thinking that any kind of Orsis-sama was the best. Whenever there was Orsis-sama, I could stay positive.

I was out of breath and asphyxiated, I mustered all the barely-remaining strength within me to savour the sensation of Orsis-sama’s hands in mine.

‘I am really glad to have reincarnated!’ was what I was thinking at the moment, but I was already on the brink of death!

Footnotes
1.Here, it says ‘oshi’ which means ‘fav character’ but when flailing, you either say hubby or wifey, simply ‘love’ right?
2.Or ‘nekama’, I right away wrote the meaning there
3.Gacha is a capsule toy machine, but in apps they imitate the mechanism, so you pay and get random items for each time you play it
4.Very roughly 300USD
